Habitat:	Found at elevations up to 2700 metres[146]. Sparse forests at elevations of 500 - 1700 metres in southwest China[266].

Physical Characteristics

Tree growing to 7m. . It is in flower from April to June, and the seeds ripen from August to November. The flowers are hermaphrodite (have both male and female organs). We rate it 0/5 for edibility and 0/5 for medicinal use.

The plant prefers light (sandy), medium (loamy) and heavy (clay) soils. The plant prefers acid, neutral and basic (alkaline) soils. It can grow in semi-shade (light woodland) or no shade. It requires moist soil.
